Running fully updated CA security suite (AV, firewall, spyware), which id’s this trojan malware on their site but apparently didn’t catch it on it’s way into my system (!!). Got the Win SP2 update/patch from MS, but it’s still there and using all of one of my 2 processors (50% per taskmgr). How do I kill this thing!? A little afraid of messing too closely with the registry.
Anyone out there contend with this successfully? ‘Got any ideas? Thanks in advance

So, I recently purchased the very cheap ML6230 Laptop from Best Buy with Windows Vista installed. I didn’t like Vista combined with the fact that the Laptop only has 512mb RAM, so I decided to downgrade to Windows XP (this took work in itself). Now I have the fun task of finding drivers for all of the non-working components. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a compatible driver for the sigmatel hd audio that is included with this Laptop. The Vista drivers won’t work for XP. Also, I am still missing the drivers for the sm bus controller and ethernet/modem controller. I’m mostly concerned about the sound. If anyone can find a compatible Windows XP driver I would be very grateful and will annouce you as king of all drivers. Thanks.

It was infected with virus I zero-filled the hard drive and reinstalled the Win XP SP2 & upgraded it with the advanced security version. Although configuration is good enough with Pentium 4, 1.52 GHz, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Disk. I also want to install Antivirus so that I can check the files previously stored on the hard drive for virus infection. My system used to be very fast but now I dont know what is wrong with it ? It takes longer time to boot and shut down programmes work slowly, copying of files is slow. I mean altogether it has become slow. Please help me to solve this problem.
