I have a HP Pavillion m7750n and I was wonderiong how I could switch to windows XP, or if it is even possible.
I have a windows XP install disc but I wasnt sure if all I had to do was boot from cd..
Thanks in advance.
I have Purchased HP DV6653CL (6000 series) Laptop it had windows vista installed in it and some how i have managed to format it and install Win XP in it
Now iam not getting the appropriate drivers for it,
i have got the blue tooth, wireless drivers
I need the following drivers
LAN CARD DRIVERS
DISPLAY DRIVERS
SOUND DRIVERS
MODEM DRIVERS
Do you have to format the hard drive?
I ordered win XP for my neighbor to upgrade her from 98 to XP. I had to get more memory so I took the computer to the pc store to get more memory for this.
The owner of the computer store swears up and down that the hard drive needs to be reformatted for this to be done. She says that I need drivers for everything inside the computer as well (cdrom, dvdrom, video cards – etc).
I found a microsoft website that says to upgrade the system from 98 to XP, you simply pop in the os disc and click – ‘upgrade’ no formatting needed.
Is this true? Or will I start doing it realizing that I dont have any sound, picture or cd roms when I get finished?
Thanks
Had a driver conflict and uninstalled the RAID controller driver. I now have the new Hardware wizard come up everytime I boot up.
I am using Windows XP Service pack 2.
