My hard drive is really messed. So I need to reformat it (hopefully that works).
But after several moves, I can find the windows xp cd activation code. I can run windows only in safe mode. Is there anyway to find it in the registry?

I have Win XP Tablet edition. Credential Manager came loaded and starts up each time I load Windows. I don’t use it and don’t want to use it. I want it out of my System Tray and out of my life. Please help.
I forgot to mention that Credential Manager does not show up as a program in Add/Remove Program available for uninstalling. I did look in msconfig. It did not jump out at me, but the names are cryptic. I will research the programs listed to see if Credential Manager is among them.

I’ve got a client with XP on her work Laptop, and the backup Laptop uses Vista. The problem is XP recognizes Vista’s shared drivers and folders and can access them, but Vista will not recognize XP’s shared drives. She wants to be able to access her backup log which is saved on the XP machine from the Vista machine. So obviously she can’t, because Vista won’t recognize XP’s shared folders. Anyone else having this problem and heard of a fix? I’ve actually tried installing Microsofts fix where you install it on the XP machine because of TDLL (responsive multilayer network topology) that XP lacks. I am able to ping XP from the Vista computer, but cannot view it under net view. They are also under the same workgroup. Any idea’s?

When going into the User Accounts under Windows XP I get the following strange error message:
‘cells.item(…)’ is null or not an object
and then no user accounts are shown.
I can still log into the machine with the correct username and password (not on a domain). Anyone seen this and know how to fix it?
