How do I find my windows xp activation code in safe mode?

My hard drive is really messed. So I need to reformat it (hopefully that works).

But after several moves, I can find the windows xp cd activation code. I can run windows only in safe mode. Is there anyway to find it in the registry?

    download belarc advisor its free. It will give you the XP CD KEY

    sure, its really easy to pull your keys, not just for windows but office too.
    there is a small stand alone program called magic jelly
    bean key finder, here is a link

    the program is free and all it does is pull keys
