I have a cd that came with one of my college books that helps you understand better and I installed it on my windows vista Laptop just fine. But when I try to get it to run I get an error message. I looked at the book and it says the cd works with Microsoft Windows 95, 98SE, 2000, and XP. I wanted to know is there anything that I can do to make this cd work with vista?

one of julys ms security update for win xp has caused my system to not be able to access the internet untill i restored my system to an earlier time..however my 2nd system has no restore point so how do I remove the update and get back on the internet?? any help is appreciated

Hi, I’m on a big project of making my customised version of windows xp. Na, I’m not going to make changes to the OS. Infact, I’m going to make a AIO (All-in-One) Windows XP CD which will have all drivers, essential softwares, data recovery, hard disk repairing, password recovery, antivirus, etc lot of stuff to go. I’m already upto 80 % of it. I want a small help. I’d like to know is it possible to start windows xp through dos command. Previously, in windows 98se we were having that facility. Like, when we type win.com windows 98 starts. We were able to rename the win.com file to any other file name with a .com extension and whenever we type that name with the extension we were able to start windows 98. Any method to start xp in the same way 1st dos should command, when i type a command xp should start.

Bill gates know about this. Many others too know about this. Infact many r creating their customised versions of xp, like xp gold edition, xp black edition, xp blue edition, xp unlimited edition, xp ultimate edition, wesmosis xp etc., like that. I’m trying to make one for my home.

I’ve used nlite many times and different versions. No need of the tutorials for me I just want to know how to start windows xp from dos command.

Even though it is called ‘RW’
I can’t Rewrite it…
It says:
Insert a DVD-RW…
It used to work before but not now…
In short:
I used to be able to burn all type of discs before…
CD-R,CD-RW,DVD-RW and DVD-R.
Now I can’t burn movies in a CD-R thnx to the disc-at-once and end-track…
I can’t re-write DVD-RW…
I hv even tried DVD+RW…
AND!! I CAN’T BURN DVD-R AND DVD-RW…
So it seems that I hv to burn a DVD-R in a DVD-RW …

I have just installed Windows XP Pro, it was working fine, antel a couple of hours later, it started freazing up on startup, or shuting down when it gets to the log in screen. I have checked all my hardware, everything seems to be in order. All drivers are installed.
It starts up fine now, but when I click on EVERYTHING but programs in the start menu, Windows shuts off. If I right click something, Windows shuts off.
I AM SO FED UP WITH IT! HOW DO I FIX IT!?!?
I suspect there is conflicts with my hardware, like the memory, or my two graphics cards. (Ones PCI, (currectly using), the other is intergraded and DISABLED).
Though, I have assecs to safe mode, and everything works there.
Is there a program that can fix problems/conflicts in Windows

I tried to uninstall this program twice before but it ends up crashing my computer and i eventually have to reinstall the operating system. My OS is Win XP Home Edition. My computer is a Pentium 4 that is only a year old. Any help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I downloaded Win XP successfully, but it just worked for two minutes and then turn off automatic and then couldn’t open Win XP. Even I turn off the computer and turn on again but it still doesn’t works. Then I waited for at least 15 Minutes but again when I turn on it just works for 2 minutes & switched off. Its frustrating as this thing is repeating. Any idea what can be problem, hardware or software ? Kindly be specific. Thanks to all in advance.
