When Windows XP boots up, even if it is connected to Ethernet it still brings up the wireless network. How can I set it up so it looks for Ethernet first and connects to it if its present, and then looks for wireless if it isn’t plugged into an ethernet connection? Thanks!

Is it possible to send fax through the help of phone line & Laptop (having in-built modem & Win-XP operating system)? If yes, then is it convenient, practical and popular way to do so?
Can any one let me know the link or process how to successfully do that.
Device Manager has no splashes under Sounds and Audio Devices Properties. List under the above is Audio Codecs and Legacy Audio Drivers. The only options it gives me is to update driver, scan for hardware changes and properties, when I update it says no better driver available, under properties it says device is working properly. Under Audio there is no place to click on any thing. when I go to sounds in cntrl panel there is no volume control and search does not find it either. Says also no audio device, but in device manager is says it is working properly. All connections OK, tried other speakers, went completely through troubleshooting, gone on Web looking for better driver, looked on Driver CD. Does anyone know what I might try. You may email me or if you respond directly to Question on Yahoo , look back from me for a follow up. OK? Thanks
I downloaded all drivers from driver.com, still nothing, I have all updates , SP2, still no volume control, downloaded updated drivers for audio-sound still nothing, Hotfixes etc. Any other ideas?
Also, this happened after I did system restore (no sound disappeared after system restore)
It loads normally, if a bit slow, then before it gets to the login screen the screen goes black then to a blue screen saying something like ‘file is corrupt’ or ‘file cannot be found’
Anyone got ideas on what might be wrong and how it can be fixed, besides reformatting?
I do not have the OS disc.

My pc precessor is 650 MHZ and RAM 128, I upgrade it from 98 to XP, is it okay or not? Now I can’t hear the sound, may be the problem will be with driver, I have manufacturer CD but I don’t know what to do? Please help!
I want to buy a new iMac and have been reading up on Bootcamp as it is a nice feature to be able to run XP as well. It seems that you must have Win XP SP2 rather than SP1 in order for it to work. However, my installation CD is quite old and is SP1. How can I get Win XP SP2 on CD? I tried the Microsoft website but cannot find anything of use while searching.
During last updates of Windows XP, at least one folder with strange name is created (like 4cf3ba2b1353f4be357a3ca0b7). I have tried to delete all those folders, but always appears a message telling me that folder is being used for another program and can not be deleted.
I’ve even tried to delete those folders by starting my PC in safe mode, but the message is the same.
