i hv taken a new Laptop of Compaq Pasario C702Tu model but not getting all Drives.

I have an HP a1600n computer that has Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition installed on it…I have already backed-up all of my files that i wanted to keep to an external hard drive. The problem is, is that my computer did not come with any kind of CD that will allow me to re-install windows xp on it. It does have a recovery console though…How can i re-install windows xp on it? Why doesn’t these computers come with a recovery disk? Thanks!

I have some files that i would like to password protect…I am running WIN XP 64 bit, how do I go about doing this? Do I need to download a third party application? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Upon going into Start-run-command, as soon as the command prompt screen loads up, the computer shuts down and restarts straight away.

Is it a bad drive, or a virus?

It does not show full screen on any of resolutions.

Anybody had this problem? My guess I need some specific XP driver. I tried to download Viewsonic XP driver from one of the websites, but it does not seem to be installing right.
There is no way to change hight with monitor buttons. You can move picture up and down, but there is no way to expend it.

I also used default plug and play drivers to no effect.

i made the cd win xp sp2 boot with sata driver of acer aspire 4720 but when it booting, it’ll show iastor.sys’s corrupted. why the problem occured like this? please, help me.

After you install the Win Xp Prof. you get a new default registry. I can backup this registry and I’ll have .reg file that will be my backup. I need to know where can I get one. I don’t want to reinstall my Win XP Prof.

I share an internet connection with two other computers. They are both on Windows XP. My Laptop is Windows Millenium Edition. The other computers have Norton Internet Security on them but it won’t work on mine. Has anyone any ideas on what I should do please?
