Window XP installation problem, Please help?

win xp installation

My computer doesn’t work because I couldn’t download the Win XP successfully, even after formating the hard drive. It always says that there are some document lost or damaged. So when I start the computer, Windows XP first page appears and then I see the blue color background on the screen, with white words it says something damaged in my hard disc or software .

I am not sure if its a hard disc or software problem ? can you give me an idea? Advise expected from computer experts, as I am tired of repeated installations with no success. Thanks to all of you in advance.

Without the exact error code it is simply speculation.

    The two possibilities are that:
    1. your xp cd is messed up. Look at the CD and make sure that it is not scratched up or dirty.

    2. that your hard drive is failing.

I would look at the cd. If it is ok, then get a new hard drive.

Well if your downloading software, make sure it has no viruses and download software legally. Download the software again maybe it will work with the genuine windows XP.

If your downloading Windows XP from disc I would fist boot up into your bios settings and go to Bios and click boot up from CDROM,
Once your Windoows XP has loaded it will restart and at that point when it boots up again goback to your settings and change it back to deafult setting and your Windows Xp will continue to load and your done.

I think while u where downloading the os from the net few of the files where not copied on properly .So i say try to get xp cd from any of ur friends and try to install it successfully then there is no problem in the hard disk else take the hard disk to ur nearest computer hardware shop get it checked ….if u can get the cd from ur friend and it’s properly installed then make the copy of that cd……else contact computer mechanic [assembler] he does has all those cd’s..

There can be more then one issues causing this problem.

What I recommend is that you get a new installation CD.

Boot the computer from CD and select fresh install

If you dont have any data on the drive, or if you have taken the backup, delete all the partitions and create new ones to ensure that you start up with a fresh drive.

    Install the Operating System afresh

At the end of this, you will have a freshly installed and initialized PC.

If this does not work, there might be some issues with your hard drive or CD drive. But as you did not mention the error you are getting its purely guesswork.
