Ok people – time to put your brains to work
I have looked into many different programs, and just do not have the money to spend on one of them. I also tried running the XP setup disk again (After restarting), and i couldn’t do it from there.
So, do i have to uninstall windows XP and then make 2 partitions? Or, is there a way that i can actually do it without having to re-install everything again – and possibly do it with the computer on?
I Should add i run on the NTFS file drive. I’ve looked into a program by Acronis, and PartitionMagic from Norton.
The other thing i was told to do was this:
Start>Control Panel>Performance & Maintenence>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management
Been there, tried to do what i could – can’t do anything.
It is a BASIC drive, NOT a DYNAMIC.
I already tried setting it to Xp sp2 compatibility mode, changing the sound code, enabling sound mixer, updating my sound card drivers and still not luck. ( I have Onboard Realtek HD Audio)
Does this game Only Works with sound in win Xp sp2? Also is there a lot of difference between the Graphics of Dx9 and Dx10??
So if i Install XP Sp2 will it work without problems? Will graphics still look awesome in DX9?
The Laptop is a Gateway MT6707.
Ok, the reason for this is because most of my devices (midi controllers, and soundcards) doesn’t have any available drivers for Vista. My last resort is to reformat and just to install win xp.
The problem though, is that the hard disk is SATA, and booting up from the winxp installation disc can’t seem to recognize it.
I found a driver for the hard drive, but it seems to be designed only if you are in a WinXP WinVista shell.

I’ve read a topic here in answers that I need to press F6 during the XP installation to point the installation program to a floppy that contains the drivers. The Laptop doesn’t have floppy drives.
can someone help please? I really need to install xp. Thanks.
Anytime I open a chat window with Yahoo Messenger, 8.1 I get the Blue screen and my Windows XP Home Edition crashes?
Anyone know what’s going on?
thanks

Hi folks,
I got Dell #1505 Laptop and have my windows corrupted. I got the Windows XP pro SP2 reinstallation CD from Dell(Only one CD). There’s no separate Device Driver CD from Dell. Can I go ahead format my C:\ drive and reinstall Win Xp Pro from Dell reinstall CD? If I can do like this then what about the drivers? Do anyone of you have any experience in doing so?
Thanks

Our computer was fried in an electrical storm. Fortunately I have a backup of our files and settings on an external hard drive (this was made using Windows XP Professional). All I really care about is restoring our files to a different computer. My choices are: using my husband’s work computer, which also runs Windows XP Pro or use our soon-coming new computer which will have Windows Vista Home Premium.
Is it possible to open the .bkp file in our external hard drive using my husband’s computer and restoring just the files (I don’t want to overwrite his work stuff)? Or will everything be restored? Is it possible to do this on our new computer with Vista, even though the backup was made using XP?
Help!
To clarify:
When I made the backup, I used XP’s backup utility and selected “Files and settings.”
i recently re-installed windows xp and now the internet won’t work. apparently, i have to re-install the xp drivers but i can’t connect to the internet through that computer so how do i install the drivers with no internet connection?? dell sent me 3 cd’s to help me ‘start over’, one orange one and two blue ones. but none of the disks say anything about drivers…
thanks in advance!!!
