I want to replace my windows vista installation with windows server 2003, but on hp’s website, they don’t list windows server 2003 as an operating system the drivers support, but then again, they don’t even list XP, and I’m pretty sure all my hardware (fingerprint reader, webcam, audio, video, motherboard, etc) supports XP, because I could have bought XP on the Notebook, so I’m wondering if those drivers will work for windows server. if not, where could i get some?

I am getting an internal memory error reference message when I close IE. It won’t let me uninstall version 6 so I can re-install version 7 for WIN XP sp2 again.

I purchased the product at Walmart, but Ineed the drivers -I am on vacation and don’t have the CD – thought since it was USB XP would recognize the camera. Any assistance would be appreciated -I used the link for the question regarding the manual and submitted a question to their site.

SOMETIMES I click on LINKS in Windows my mouse doesnt respond… Sometimes it takes 2 clicks, sometimes 4. Sometimes when I attempt to click-drag the machine responds late and skips the drag midway, causing me to miss the drag and having to restart the click-drag all over again. I’m using a microsoft standard wireless optical mouse and keyboard on Windows XP.

AMD Ath 3800+ Proc 2.4 ghz 2 GB Ram Win XP 32 bit, SP 2, Dx 9.0c Video Card: PNY Verto GeForce 8500 GT, 512mb, PCI Exp x16*I got new b/c old wdn’t hndl Bioshock. After few headaches got the video card and all my games working. The card plays Bioshock at high frame rate at 1440 x 900. The game never slows down and look beautiful. The prob is when I try to run any sort of video on Windows Mediaplayer (and some other programs) it freezes my comp, although it will play the sound for .wmv files. Sometimes if I wait 10 minutes it will unlock my computer, but usually I have to do a hard reset on my tower. Also, when I try to fiddle with the nvidia settings it sometimes freezes when I change video playback settings. Prior to installing this card I had no issues. I have done the basics: reinstalled drivers (and of course, I always uninstall the old ones first), tried the new beta drivers and the windows signed drivers, ran spyware, ran registry clnrs, checked temps(all ok). Pls hlp.
Ok, I tried the ffdshow suggestion and that did not help. I also installed Windows Media Player 11, and still the same. Finally, I went through Windows Help and it suggested I go into advanced display settings and disable hardware acceleration. This did the trick, videos now play and no system freeze. Problem now is I have to switch back and forth between hardware accelerated for games and non for video (which require restart). Any suggestions given the new info??
I fixed problem. My friend suggested I uninstall the drivers I had and reinstall the ones that came in the card packaging while in safe mode. (I had updated to the newest ones) This worked, I can now play games and watch videos on my cpu. I have noticed a very slight performance drop while playing Bioshock but it is minor.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Here’s the message that I recieve: “No active audio mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to control panel, click printers and other hardware, and click add hardware.” Of course when I try this, I’m asked to plug in my audio device. I’ve tried re-installing my audio drivers and/or rolling back the driver. This has worked in the past, but not now. I assume that there is a conflict with whatever new updates are being downloaded automatically from Windows. Any ideas on how I can first fix this problem and secondly stop it from happening again? I’m running Windows XP on a Sony Vaio desktop and the device driver is from Creative Audiology. Thanks!
