I need to restart my computer in dos mode and i’m running windows xp and cannot find any information on how to restart it in dos mode. I do not need a dos prompt, i need it to close windows and run only dos. I’m trying to format my hard drive. The first person to give me a working method gets the best answer! Please answer ASAP because this is for a class project we are working on right this minute.
Oh, forgot to mention that pressing F8 doesn’t seem to help us at all, we can only enter windows safe mode from there.
Nvm we figured it out

I have HP pavilion dv6119.
AMD Turion 64X2
Nvidia Geforce 6150
1 GB ram
Windows XP Media Center Edition
It has a sticker that says Windows Vista Capable
and I have a Vista Home premium 64/32
I would like to know the pros and cons of upgrading xp to vista 64 bit and to vista 32 bit
the reasons are appreciated
for example, it would get slower because the ram is only 1gb
It seems like no one is gonna recommend the upgrade. I modified my xp to vista look anyway. Maybe i should be satisfied with that.
How about from Vista home premium 32 bit to 64 bit?

A visitor to the house is installing games and always seems to manage to install a complete suite of yahoo programs. How can I stop this, is there a blocker for Yahoo programs, or am I stuck setting up a limited account?

I am using a win xp pro system. The Nvidia site was decidedly unhelpful. I tried several other sites and no luck. I was under the impression that graphics cards were plug-n-play but device manager says that the drivers are not installed.

I’m writing an application in VB 2005 that deals with automated unzipping of files. I have created folders to store unzipped files and text files to store settings information. When i try to access the text file i get a security error. Any pointers?
