I have an Hp Pavilion with Windows XP Service Pack 1 installed. Does anybody know where I can download and install Service Pack 2 and all its components. And is there any info I should be aware of to do this? Any help is appreciated.
Ok my Uncle ask me to take his Dell Laptop and reinstall XP Pro on because his HD crapped out and had to get replaced, now he doesn’t have a restore CD or anything like that for the Laptop so I used a Win XP Pro SP2 CD that I had got from school through some “Entitled Software Package” so its basically a CD with “Licensing” all over it with its own key (Which is My Key), now I ran the install and after the whole Coping Files prompt in DOS it went into the standard XP setup and asked for the CD Key, I tried to use the key that came with the Laptop but it said it was incorrect, so I was forced to use my CD Key and it worked, but after installing XP and all the drivers I want to change the key to his key. How do I do it, btw I accidentally Activated with my key and it went thru, now I want to change it and reactivate it with his key, cuz i think I have a limit as to how many PCs I can have my key on, any thoughts, I’ve tried google and various progs but no success.
I have Windows XP Pro, i upgraded from XP home. While using home and pro, I havent been able to use the windows update or microsoft update feature. Each time it gets as far as starting to install whatever the patch is then it quits and says “Cannot install update”. The program will go through the lengthy process of deleting the downloaded files then I have to restart the computer.
Oddly enough I have no problem downloading from the website and installing each update individually. That’s damn tedious considering there are a ***load of them.
Has anyone had this problem before?
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the Operating System. Checked all my hardware for conflicts, everything checks out okay so I cannot figure out for the life of my computer what’s the problem.
I want to upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. Will I need to reinstall my existing programs? Or, will I be able to run them without the need for this?
Yet again i’m wasting valuable minutes of my life trying to get windows to work properly.
I just reinstalled windows xp on my brothers dell computer, and it won’t let me put the resolution higher than 640×480 or the colour quality higher than 4 bit.
It has onboard graphics which are apparently working properly, and i’ve tried downloading drivers for the monitor but it won’t let me install them. I go to the monitors tab in the control panel but the properties tab (where I change the driver) is greyed out. It says “default monitor” but i can’t change any settings. There isn’t an actual installer for the drivers, so the only way to set them is through the control panel.
It got infected with about 30 viruses within the first 10 minutes of being on the internet, they should all be gone now, but i guess it could maybe have something to with that. It’s a dell dimension 8200 with dell e771a monitor, and i want to throw it out of the window.
the hosts file is in the right place (%SystemRoot\system32\drivers\etc) and has correct permissions (system has full control). win xp does not consult it at all (ignores both dns overrides and entries not in dns).
Can I somehow convert a WIN XP program to run on my pocket pc which is running Win Mobile? I’m only talking about small applications; I realize that Word and Excel are already available for the Pocket PC format. Thanks.
hi, i have a Laptop Toshiba and i’d like to know where can i download the dirver for it’s graphic card: ATI Radeon X1250 for windows XP….thanks
Sometimes when surfing the web, multiple toolbars will appear at the bottom of windows or windows xp. When there is about 6 or 7 websites inside the toolbar (on the right of the start button in the desktop), windows combines them all into one to form a group. But how do you close 3 or 4 website toolbars all at once so that you dont have to click on each individual one to close it?
Hey, what files are required to get the XP Halo 2 multiplayer to run? I have it for XP, and cant get online as it crashes a lot.
