I upgraded my Compaq Presario to Windows XP and now my CD burner will not work. How do I find the correct drivers to install so it will detect my CD burner

I want a computer (new) with win xp home or xp pro with at least 160 gb hd, 512-1GB (expandable to at least 4 GB RAM), minimum Pentium 4 2.66 mhz, 800 mhz front side bus (FSB), DVD writer, DVD rom, ethernet port, modem, sound card, minimum 4 usb 2.0 ports. 3.5″ floppy, no mini towers. Video RAm on mother board or separate video card.
Also I want to avoid Dell.

I have a Desk Top Computer Custom Built Window XP Pro installed When i use the Window Explorer for finding files or use the Search button It invariably crashes

i have 3 partition on my Notebook (sata HDD)
C:vista home edition (original)
D:vista ultimate (default)
and i intalled win xp @E (with integrating SATA driver)
before installing xp, i can choice vista home ed. and ult. ed. to boot @start up but after installing xp, i can see all 3 op. sys. but only can boot xp, vista op. systems not!!! i tried to edit boot ini with bcdedit and vistbootpro! no way to return to vista @start up!!! i ve googled about it! i ve done everything right but as a result i ve seen all 3 op systems @start up but only boot in xp. when i pick up vista op. systems, nothing happens!!!

It won’t download service pak 3…it says there is a hardware faillure. But I think I have conflicting Administrator names

center, that is an ad for a $ 49.95 purchase to scan and “fix” 31 files that are shown as infected.
We purchased our own security pkg, but haven’t downloaded it yet. Do we have a virus? Many thanks in advance

I have lost pc’s drivers.I now need Ethernet one.Any idea how to find the name and model number? i am using WIn XP..I need the model number and the company name. I don’t have anything else to find out. AutoFind is also not working.
