I had one administrator on my Laptop (running win xp pro sp2) I recently noticed that the account which was administrator is now a guest account and the system doesn’t seem to have an administrator. The system had crashed while starting xp and i noticed this problem after a re-boot

As a result, i am a guest on my own Laptop and hence cannot add/remove programs, etc. is there a default administrator password i can supply? or anything else other than reinstalling windows? i cant even system restore. (My BIOS doesnt have a password and i had installed Vista Transformation Pack just before noticing this. however, after installation i still had admin rights until the system crashed while booting.

My little one peel all of my stickers of the back of my Laptop so therefore i cannot enter the express tag # to get the list of drivers that goes w/ my PC like I’ve did n the pass. I need the network, sound, video, modem drivers for Dell latitude d620. I guess the most important ones would be network/ethernet b/c once I am able to get on line it should be easy from there. I want to use Win 98 SE, but my Notebook drivers does not support operating system below Win XP Home Edition.

When I start my computer, (1) the boot screen is displayed, (2) my screen goes blank for 2 -3 minutes, (3) windows begins to start up. I can’t figure out what is causing step 2. Afterwards my computer locks up and I have to shut down the power to get it work again. I have run virus checks, system checks, checks out the wazoo and it still plagues me. I am using windows xp with sp2. Thanks for your help.

how to copy win98 driver files from cd drive to d drive ?

if i create two drives c and d and i wantto copy win xp drivers(cab) files to d drive hgow to do it. will it automatically copy in i386 folder . plz help me after installing the win xp os then only i should do it or when

XP Home edition is the OS. The video driver I want to install is Acer AL1716. Control panel won’t let me change the drivers. No internet sites tell you how to do this. they tell you how to do 9X, 2000, & ME. But not XP.

why setup xp on my Laptop?because xp cd needs sata driver and doesn’t exist into cd and help me why create cd setup contain sata driver

ok so i just biult thius comp this morning and i installed windows xp pro sp2 on it……..no when i went to laod all the drivers from the cds i get a combo of error messages.

now i get that just for trying to open a cd……any cd including the win xp cd wich worked fine on instalation.

when ever i manage to get the cd to open(i just try a few times to do this) i try to run any type of program i always get an error message: program not a valid win32 application. now i can get this DVD-ROM drive to work fine in other comps….and i still have the same problem with other drives in this comp….so i decided it must be a windows or software problem so i repared widows useing the cd……and i still have the problem…..i dont know if there a setting i need to change .. link to full report: http://www.jinx.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=58160
