A funky, buggy song about XP, sung by XP and produced on XP…
I made this in 2004 as an experiment with synthetic vocals and after this actually became some weird musical “interaction” between Sam and me, I sent it to Redmond as a funny example of “start something…”
Guess what… they didn’t answer… ![]()
All (!) vocals by Microsoft SAM.
FAQ:
Q: How did you make Sam sing?
A: I used the Steinberg Voice Machine VST plugins in the Cubase recording host program.
Q: How do you record Sam?
A: Set your Windows audio mixer to record either “Wave” or “Speaker” output. Then you can record Sam with any audio recorder program (I recommend the Audacity freeware)

The error reflects the problem as a Hardware or Software Driver in Windows XP. Already updated all Windows updates. Upgraded all drivers that I could find. Please advise on correcting this error.

Anyone having trouble upgrading from Windows XP to Vista via the free web upgrade if u buy a new PC?

I just bought a new pc abt a month ago. It is a Compaq with all the bells and whistles:) Model#SR2038X. I was supposed to get a free upgrade to Vista Premium via a website from Microsoft. Every time I go to upgrade it always says that there is some unrecoverable error and try again later. Well the problem when u try again later is that your certificate of authenticity is not valid bcoz the system already thinks u got your upgrade. I have had the info reset 2x by someone who is customer service for the site. Anyone else having these troubles too?
