Okay, when i boot up my computer, the screen displays two options:
1. Start Windows XP
2. Start Windows XP Setup
and for some reason, its always highlighted on the Setup, so if you dont change it in 3 seconds, it will load up the Setup.
I want to know, how do i get rid of this option so that my comp will just start Windows automatically?
no i didnt leave the disc in.
i think that startup is for programs when OS is running
Hi,
I have a dell xps m1530 Laptop. I have recently wiped vista off it and installed windows xp on it. I play games on it such as worms mayhem, pro evo 2008 and call of duty 4 without any problems. However, I have just installed Crysis on it. When playing the game, the trees and other environmental features in the game are sort-of “semi-invisible” aswell as my hand and gun. Also the water doesnt look like water, it looks just like a brown flat sheet. Overall, the in-game graphics is really messed-up.
Because I am running Win XP on this machine (this machine was shipped with vista and dell dont offer win xp drivers), I have had to install all custom drivers which I got off the internet. These drivers included the graphics drivers which are ‘Forceware’ drivers.
However, I dont see how this could be my problem as all the other games that I run on the system run perfectly ok.
Has anyone experienced this? and can anyone help me with this problem?
Thanks,
Dan.

I have the Win XP Security Center AND SpyGuard 2008 viruses simultaneously. I have used both MalwareBytes AND SmitfraudFix and NEITHER of them have gotten rid of these things. I have tried uninstall, exiting spyGuard after it opens and running the antimalware programs. I can get it to turn off for a few seconds, then it auto reloads. Have searched the entire net and it always says the same thing – use MBAM or SmitfraudFix. They’re just NOT working. PLEASE help. These suck hard!
Alex J….You’re just another a-hole trying to peddle your stupid antivirus software, just like the rest of them that gave me this virus in the first place. Thanks for nothing. You should be banned from the Web for the rest of your life. Jackoff!

Ok, so I currently have Windows XP which is filled with crap. Idealistically I would like to wipe the Windows XP clean, start with a new slate, and then install Linux Ubuntu. If anyone could help other than just giving me the Linux Ubuntu website, I would really appreciate it.
In windows vista, you can press the windows key and a number which is applies to an icon on the quick launch to quickly open that program.
Example: If on my quick launch bar i have desktop, my computer, firefox and i press the windows key and 3 at the same time, firefox will be launched.
I recently downgraded back to XP but is there a small application for XP which mimics this function?
I have a problem, where my CD Rom Drive or my Floppy drive is not working for me to reinstall XP. I dont have another Computer available and i found out that both cd-rom drive and floppy drives are good but windows is not installing them.
And another thing the Windows XP that is on my computer right now is not genuine and its telling me that my computer is now at risk. Right now Microsoft Office has stop working and needs to be reinstall just like Windows
Can Someone Help me and tell me how is it possible to reinstall both software without the use of a CD- rom drive or give me some website that can help me with this problem that I’m having
Is it really possible to hack my account password from the start screen on Windows XP? How can I protect it?
