When I click on shortcuts on my desktop, the printer window comes up. Shortcuts won’t open. —-XP system—- How can I get shortcuts to open?
I have had this problem for at 6 months. One time there was something in the waste basket and I deleted it. I had never seen it before. I have not done anything to the computer for a year or so.

I recently had to upgrade my computer and now have Windows Vista Home Basic. We transfered information from our old computer that had Windows XP. Now I cannot view my pictures that we transferred. Any help out there. I have tried reading it with different programs but it keeps saying that it cannot be read.
next to the picture file it states a PMV file
we downloaded the information by putting the old hard drive into the new tower and transferring the information.

I have recently noticed that when I open “my computer” on Win XP SP3. I have under “folders on this computer” 3 of the 4 users + shared documents on there but not the fourth user. They are a limited user and I am an administrator.

I can see the other administrators folder +mine + 1 limited users file.

I have got 2 partitions on my pc. On one partition, there is Windows XP and on the other partition, there in Windows 98.

Now I want to format both partitions and install Windows XP on one of the 2 partitions while keeping the 2nd partition free to store my data like songs, movies and so on.

But the problem is that I am not being able to install thw windows XP. I have inserted the installation disc and I try to boot from the disc but my pc is not booting from the disc. I changed the 1st boot device, 2nd boot device and 3rd boot device and so on in BIOS but my pc still does not boot from the disc to install the Windows.

However, there is an option to me: I can install the windows from My Computer and running the setup. But my friends have recommended me against doing this.

What do I do?

I have 2 log in names on my computer, mine and “friends” but when I log into mine, the mouse freezes and I can’t use it at all (I have a touch pad and even the shortcuts on it won’t work). When I log off or restart and log onto the “friends” one it works just fine, even the shortcuts.
