How do fix my slow internet while currently using Verizon Fios and Windows XP with a linksys wireless card?

I just got Verizon Fios fiber optic, it works great for TV, Phone and internet with a Laptop, but my desktop PC is running extremely slow and it must be on my computer. I am running Windows XP and have a Linksys Wireless card and should be getting up to 15mbs download and 2 upload. My upload is fine, but download is bad.

   You need to run the optimizer. It made a big difference for me.

   Your computer could be bogged down by tons of things trying to all download at one time - seeing how your upload is fine it your computer and nothing to do with the internet. If you run optimizers and clean your computer up using Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware SE or some antivirus, and its still slow, your best bet is to reformat your computer, and start new.
