What are the best settings for your power options in windows xp?

windows xp

I am new at this thing, and I am afraid I will mess up something if I try to set them without some knowledge of what I am doing. Can someone tell me what the best setting for the power options in windows xp are? The scheme, the monitor, the hybernation, and the stand by.

It really depends a lot on your preference. I personally hate it when my monitor goes blank while I’m watching a video or something where I’m not interacting constantly. It is always better, as far as power consumption goes, to have the monitor turn off and hard drive spin down as quickly as possible, but if the drive is off after just a minute, it will become quite annoying having to wait for it every time you do something. Unless you’re just forgetful, I would recommend putting the system in standby whenever you aren’t going to be using it for a little while, that way you ensure it is using less power as soon as it is idle. Just make sure whatever you do, use at least some kind of standby/hibernate, it significantly reduces the power consumption compared to a fully powered system.
