Instead of getting a Vista now, should I wait for the Windows 7? I have the latest XP. Is there any point of getting a Vista if Windows 7 is coming out in the future?

For those of you who have been fortunate enough to try Windows 7. What do you think?
How is the driver model? Better than XP? Better than Vista?
How does it run on Quad Core machines? Duo’s? Single core?

Well, I just finished installing windows 7, to see if I’d like to purchase it later on when it becomes publically available.
I think I’ve lost all my data and my recovery drive was somehow wiped too. Any way to retrieve all my information and program files again? Or just go back to windows vista with all of my programs?

I have a Laptop without an optical drive so I can’t buy a Windows 7 disk without buying an external dvd reader $_$ If I could download Windows 7 instead, that would be great… however, would it be in .iso format so I can make it bootable on a Flash Drive?

I want to organize my episodes of a TV show in the correct order in Windows 7, and you can only organize them into set orders (like right click>sort by). I want to be able to drag and drop into order. How do I do this? Thanks in advance!

I have had Vista for about 2 years, and I have had no problems with it really, although many people says it’s really bad. But will I be able to continue using this, or will I have to get Windows 7? Sorry I really no nothing about computers, so I just want to make sure that everything will still be okay.

I would like to dual boot Windows 7 with Vista. Any ideas on how I can do this, please please reply. First answer that works wins the 10 points. I am brand new to this stuff, so please give me step by step help.

when i try to enable the screensaver on ms windows 7 my computer does a total memory dump, what causes this.

I was thinking of putting all my shortcuts there (10 or so). Do you think that’ll slow things down?
Edit: I’ve got 512 MB of RAM and a 2.4 GHz P4.

I’m using firefox in windows 7, but the transparent black title bar makes it the whole thing look annoying and cluttered. Any way to get the standard one?
