i have lenovo T61 Laptop with windows xp sp2 installed on it? but i wanna change my os to windows 7 looking at its speed and more features. could someone tell me the complete procedure i would have to go through to get it done????

For people who have tried the Windows 7 beta, is Windows 7 by far the best operating system you have ever seen?

I think it is. It is so much faster, more secure, and better than any other operating system currently available. How many years will it take for Linux or Mac to catch up to Windows 7?

Okay, so im running on windows XP windows media center adition 2005. My copmputer is vista certified. I Have the Windows 7 Beta version. I was wondering what woudl happen if i installed it. Like would it be like a whole new operating system ro what?Any advice is appreciated.

I have Windows Vista Home Basic on Drive C. If ever Windows 7 Home Premium UPGRADE DVD or OEM will be available, can I clean instal it on Drive F (second partition of hard drive) without erasing Windows Vista? Is it also possible to install a 64 bit win7 into that partition? HOW??

I have installed Windows 7 on a test PC and the install was flawless.. but. The screen resolution is grayed out and is set at 640×480 so everything is larger that the screen. I have tried a Dell E153FPc and a Lenovo 9227-AC1 but Windows 7 does not recognize either and just used the default Generic PnP monitor. Tried the drivers for WinXP and Vista for the Lenovo with no results. Any ideas?

XP and vista can be restarted by holding the shift key when you click restart. This restarts the OS without putting the machine the the whole BIOS and POST process which takes alot of time.

This doesn’t seem to work on Windows 7 RC. Any ideas if this is possible?

I just bought a new Laptop from Best Buy that runs Windows Vista. The sales associate told me that I will get a free upgrade to Windows 7 once it is released, but I forgot to ask him how I will get it. Will it be a clean install or an upgrade?

I have a semi-weak motherboard-GPU (nvidia 8200M G) in my Laptop and I’m running Windows 7 RC. And I know Windows XP will not perform as well with the newer and more expensive graphics cards since it is an older OS, but will I see better performance if I were to run XP instead of 7 for games like Sims 2 or Sims 3 and Flight Simulator?
Also, it is a Laptop…so, not much in the way of upgrading, only the OS really so that’s why I was wondering.
