there was a total of three placekicks (field goals) in the game. two field goals for the other team, and one extra point after a TD for your team.

They miss 2 field goals, then score a TD and make the extra point for a grand total of 7.

they tailed 6-3, then they got 2 safeties

The 3 field goals they kick are missed & score td & kick extra point & win 7-6

One of the kicks are good the others are blocked and the Defense tries to advance the ball and are knocked back into the end zone for a Safety.

    Field Goal is 3 points
    Safety is 2 points

Isn’t it the old drop kick play, like a punt thru the uprights?

    possiblities:

    1. 2 missed field goals, 1 made extra point
    2. they other team kicked 2 field goals, you kicked and extra point
    3. You have 2 kickoffs, one at halftime/beginning of game and one after ur TD that both go through the uprights, and you kick and extra point.

    define field goal
my def. is a good kick worth 3 points
an extra point is worth one and after the TD
you just renamed extra point with field goal
2 field goals for the other team
TD and Extra Point for yours

the team with 6 points kicked 2 field goals. the other team scored a touchdown and an EXTRA point FIELD GOAL. haha IDK thas my guess

it’s easy.. you kick two field goals… miss both of them… then score a touch down and kick the point after.. you’re winning 7 to 6

If this is from the car talk puzzler, you have the wording all wrong. They didn’t kick 3 field goals they “scored” 3 field goals and they were watching the super bowl but the wife never said it was “Your football team”. Listen next week for the answer, think about it, you can figure it out. I already sent my answer in, I’ll check back in another day or so to see if anyone has gotten it yet.

Bryan’s right - if you start off asking “your football team”, you’re not going to get the right answer to the car talk puzzler. Because they didn’t ask that.

Think about other sports that have field-goals, and you’ll be on the right track to getting this one….

    Here is the correct wording:
Your team is losing 6 to nothing. The opposing team scored two field goals to account for its 6 points. Your team then scores three field goals while at the same time holding the other team scoreless. And now your team leads 7 to 6.

The correct answer is that they were playing basketball and scored 2 2 point field goals and 1 3 point field goal.
