I go to a school that allows (and encourages) use of Laptops. Up until now, I haven’t used one but next year I definitely will want to. Does anybody have any ideas about how I can carry my Laptop along with traditional folders/pencils (for math class). I have a north face Hotshot right now, and I don’t want to get rid of it, but I also don’t want to put my Laptop in there because it will get too heavy. Does anybody have any ideas? Thank you.
I’ve been hit with 3 pretty bad viruses, causing me to reformat each time. I read on the microsoft office box that the key can be used for up to 3 computers. I’ve used the key 3 times, but on the same computer. I need to reinstall it again. Can I use the same product key if it is on the same computer? I’m talking about microsoft office 2007.
I just got a Windows 7 operating system, and I’m trying to install my PCL-W310 webcam on it, but it’s not working in any way, it keeps asking for a driver, but I cant find it anywhere, can anyone help?
I have searched for manufacturers website, but cannot find it.
How can I fix my laptop sound card/audio so it works without having to apply pressure to the laptop?
I’m having some trouble with audio on my HP Pavilion zv5255us Laptop.
The sound card/audio does work so I know it’s not a problem with the drivers, but I can only get sound when I apply pressure to the Laptop, usually near the headphone jack. This happens when trying to listen through the speakers and through headphones. I’ve recently bought a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo to help the situation and it does work perfectly with headphones but I don’t think there’s a way to have it work through my Laptop speakers. As I travel a lot I don’t want to have to buy external speakers to listen to audio without headphones but I am willing to do this if necessary. I should also note that I will by buying a new Laptop in about a year so I don’t want to make any costly repairs/upgrades on this Laptop.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
I bought a Laptop and am trying to make it so that I can share files between the desktop and the Laptop, and also print from the Laptop directly to the printer that’s connected to the desktop.
I had a working LAN already with the printer sharing working fine.
Here is the setup:
A cable modem, connected to a linksys router, which has wifi enabled but also is connected via ethernet cable to the desktop PC (windows xp). The Laptop (Vista) can connect to the wireless network just fine but cannot see the desktop and therefore use any of its resources. The router assigns IPs to both comps just fine w/ dhcp and both comps can get online. Just can’t talk to each other for some reason.
I’m just looking into college courses and came across these two. My guess was that Applied computing is more practical and computer science is more theoretical? Also if I was looking to veer towards games programming which would be a better choice?
Thanks
Hey

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
/salamsm/4gsuvey1.asp, line 113
Can anybody give me some help on how to solve this problem? Thanks alot

i plan to upgrade these components in my computer:
1. CPU.
2. RAM
3. Video Card.
4. PSU
but when will i have to reinstall windows?
I do not have a serial port on my PC; only a USB port. I need to buy a USB-to-RS232 cable to connect a modem. Will the cable work without driver software in Windows Vista?
