Im trying to install windows xp over windows 7. The xp cd wont boot during restarting of the computer unless i change it in boot options. The only prob is when it installs first half of the cd and goes to reboot to finish second half it just starts the installation from the start because of the cd being first priority to boot. Plz help as i have an assignment due tomorrow.

I have windows xp. when I went to shut off computer it said click here. I clicked however the computer has not started up since. I checked all 4 options that just puts me in a loop . is there anyway to bring it back. I tried hitting F8 that just takes me to another loop. Is there a way to save my info that was stored on computer. I just mostly need access to my computer. Is there a way to restore it?

How much would a decent computer Memory Upgrade cost? What would all be upgraded? Would ram, graphics, gbs, etc be upgraded? I want an upgrade that would make my computer to be able to play the sims 3 and some of it expansions and stuff packs.

I recently had my bro clean up my pc. he forgot to update the audio and the office i need. I spoke to him last evening and (he is such a busy guy) i said that my pc doesn’t have it any more and he told me to update the drivers that everything is there. But I right clicked and stuff like he said and went to properties but still can’t figure it out.

There is on old computer I need to upgrade and add more RAM to it (it’s a PIII about 6 years old ).
1. How do I find out exactly what type of RAM to buy (number of pins, PC100? PC133? etc etc etc…)? I heard there’s some programs which can find out what RAM your computer uses, can you name some or post some links to such programs?
2. The computer currently has 2 X 128 MB memories, can I add 1 more 128MB or do I need to add a pair of 128 MB memories? Can I add a single strip of 256 MB?
3. Do all memory strips need to be exactly the same in specs? (I heard some people even recommend same brand for all!?)
Thanks.

I am currently running a Pentium 4 3GHz computer with an nVidia 4200 graphics card. I have 512MB RAM, and I believe my graphics card has 128MB. Would upgrading my graphics card to say an nVidia GeForce 9 series with at least 256MB make my games run smoother, or should I upgrade the processor as well?
Thanks.

For example, If I were to buy a desktop for $500 and spent another $500 upgrading it, would it be equivalent to a $1000 computer?

I did the “Can you run it?” test and it told me that my CPU, my video card, and my free disk space don’t meet the requirements. Is there some way of upgrading my CPU without having to buy a brand new computer? They video card i know i can get and for the disk space, will an external hard drive work or is it different for games?
