I have been searching the web for a Windows XP driver for my HP Pavillion dv6700se audio driver. I tried Realtek, but that doesn’t seem to work. Where can I find one to download?

I recently got a Laptop from my parents friend who gave it away, but I just found out that the Windows xp that is on it, was a pirated copy. Therefore I cannot update my computer and I cannot even hear any audio anymore, My Laptop didn’t come with any cds or instructions. So is there any way to reinstal another form of windows that is legal? Thanks.

I go to a school that allows (and encourages) use of Laptops. Up until now, I haven’t used one but next year I definitely will want to. Does anybody have any ideas about how I can carry my Laptop along with traditional folders/pencils (for math class). I have a north face Hotshot right now, and I don’t want to get rid of it, but I also don’t want to put my Laptop in there because it will get too heavy. Does anybody have any ideas? Thank you.

I’m having some trouble with audio on my HP Pavilion zv5255us Laptop.

The sound card/audio does work so I know it’s not a problem with the drivers, but I can only get sound when I apply pressure to the Laptop, usually near the headphone jack. This happens when trying to listen through the speakers and through headphones. I’ve recently bought a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo to help the situation and it does work perfectly with headphones but I don’t think there’s a way to have it work through my Laptop speakers. As I travel a lot I don’t want to have to buy external speakers to listen to audio without headphones but I am willing to do this if necessary. I should also note that I will by buying a new Laptop in about a year so I don’t want to make any costly repairs/upgrades on this Laptop.

I want a simple travel Laptop. I have a desktop, so the Laptop duznt need to b big, loaded with features, or purpose specific necessarily. Xcept to travel. I want to shop online preferably.

I dont need a large harddrive bcuz I plan on using Memory Sticks and pocket harddirves for large files, but I atleast want 180G’s just incase. I want a decent graphics card for movies and some games from online. I wont plan “PC” games on it tho.

Comp wasnt working right and I was gettin the blue screen of death but sometimes it would boot up fine. So I rang the bods at PCworld, big mistake, the just told me to reformatt. I lost all pics and music and cant get any microsoft programs. says application cannot be found. Im guessing the stuff is still there but no drivers to the memory? Can any techies help?? Caz.

I am currently looking for a good Laptop to take with me to college next year. I looked at some Dell Laptops and like what I see except for the poor battery life that many people complain about. Does any Laptop brand have this problem or is it just Dell?

I bought the Aspire 6930 Laptop from Acer. The Computer is great, however I have been unable to find a bag that is meant to carry Laptops that is of a correct size. The Laptop has a 16″ screen. Help?

I will be utilizing the Laptop primarily for browsing the web, chatting, etc.
I will also be playing MS Flight Sim.

What are the recommended minimum specifications, in terms of:
1. Memory
2. hard drive
3. Screen Size

However, weight and battery life would be the deciding factors.

Is it true that HP makes the best Laptops? How are the HP Mini Series and Pavilion DV2?
Any other suggestions?
