I recently upgraded my little AspireOne to Windows 7 RC and I can’t find the icon for my webcam in “My Computer”. It is listed in the Devices folder but will not open for pictures. I tried to install the XP driver from Acer’s website but it is not compatible. I tried to use Windows Picture Gallery to take a picture with it but the program doesn’t see my webcam. What are my options?

I’m using a Dell 640m Laptop. These are its properties: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2300 @ 1.66GHz 980MHz, 0.99GB of RAM. Its too slow and I want to upgrade it. My hard disk space at the moment is only 40GB and I want to upgrade it to at least 80 or more. What is the recommended upgrade for this Laptop? Do I need to change the motherboard if I upgrade the RAM and Hard disk space? Is it compatible?

I mainly use my computer for playing rpg and fps games but lately I’ve been getting alot of computer stuttering (stops like every 7 seconds) and a low rate of frames per second.
I have a dell inspiron 5100-
Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz, 2.66GHz, 512mb of RAM.
I’ve run defrags, error checked, deleted everything I can but I still get bad performance…
I don’t know a whole lot about computer hardware, should I upgrade my RAM from 512mb? Should I go for a new processor? Or is there something else I can do?

What can I do to speed up and upgrade my Laptop? I have a Gateway mx6454 from a couple years ago. I really want to improve my Laptop performance but dont know what there is you can do for a Laptop. I know on a pc you can add ram or upgrade a video card… I am running the model listed above. Only difference is I have Vista Ultimate 64bit and a 1tb external. Thank you in advance for the help!
i do disk defrag regularly as well a cleanup. How do i do the registry? I would like to do some sorta hard ware upgrade but not sure how to go about it
I checked into the overclocking my cpu but it seems like everyone advises not to for a Laptop. found a program to help monitor the temp and change fan speed but i can find my motherboard on the list to enable the overclocking
I just started to download a registry cleaning software. Is there anyway to get more ram or a new video card for this computer?
Last question…lol
When I look it up it says the max ram for my computer is 2gb. Is this due to the OS that came installed on it (XP Home)? I know have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Or does the 2gb limit mean the motherboard cant support more ram?

What is the best way to upgrade my Laptop? I have an HP G60 with 3GB of RAM, 160GB of hard drive, 32-bit OS, and AMD Sempron processor. I’m running Windows Vista Home with SP2 as well. Should I upgrade RAM, or what…? I’m not too tech-savvy, so I’m not sure (like is it even possible to change your processor?).
Thanks a bunch.

Is there a way to go beyond the maximum RAM on a Laptop? Will a bios upgrade allow for this? Thanks for any answers.

I would appreciate any instructions or links with specific instructions..maybe even pictures etc..
