Computer cannot find my scanner?

Wednesday 24 June 2009 @ 9:07 pm
windows imaging device

Scanner is Epson Perfection 2450. Newest drivers installed. Running Windows XP with all updates. USB connection for scanner and the USB port works with other devices just fine. Was scanning last week and now it is just ‘gone’. I think it is something in the registry. Have done all reboots and reinstall again and again. Nothing. No scanning device in Device Manager, no hardware in imaging devices. Camera/scanner wizard will not find it.

Does anyone know where I’d find drivers and setup instructions for the Visioneer 6100 usb for Win XP?

win xp drivers

I went to the manufacturer’s site for my Visioneer scanner, located the drivers, and followed the instructions but after the installation I noticed there was no icon on the desktop, and nothing in my Start menu. I’m thinking I’m leaving something out and I haven’t a clue what it is. I’ve been at this all day. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’d really like to hear from someone who’s experienced the same problem. Thanks.

What program do I use to scan a document in Windows XP?

Sunday 11 January 2009 @ 7:16 pm
win xp drivers

I am looking for a program in Windows XP (sp2) that will scan a document on my flatbed scanner. Windows IDs the scanner and installs a driver for it. The scanner had software that runs under 98se but the program will not install in XP and Canon, the manufacturer, will not even support it with XP drivers. I have noticed there is No Kodak imaging in XP. There is no program like it in XP? Does anyone know of a free program that will do the scanning?

info: Win XP(sp2), Canon FB630U (flatbed usb scanner)
