I have upgraded my system from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. On the old system, i had a scanner that worked as it was supposed to. Windows XP gives me a message stating it cannot find a driver for my scanner. What do i need to do to install the scanner under Windows XP?
Actually the driver scanner that i want to install does not work. What do i need to do to obtain an updated or compatible driver?

The scan program crashes after scanning multiple pages. It is an intermittent problem though. If we scan one page, it saves it fine, but when you scan more than a few at one time before saving, the program crashes. Any hints or suggestions.?

I have done all that the troubleshooting progs have asked me to do. Still no joy. The ‘power on’ light is on. The connections are fine. The drivers are installed O.K.What I do not see is any trace of light under the scanner cover when the power is on. Can this be the problem ? and if so what can I do to solve it please.?

Have installed in above PC a Brother MFC with Manf’s installation and control software. Diagnostic by software states all divice drivers are properly installed . However only printer fucntion and fax receiving from ext phoneline work but scanner function indicates cannot communicate with the computer and vice versa. The user manual says USB 2 required for the MFC . Can my existing motherboard Intel DB850GB (2001) support USB 2. The MFC is currently connected direct to a USB socket on motherboard . Printer is shown to be connected to a USB 1 port and will print when Print button is clicked from any print program from computer.Other functions do not work from computer or MFC. Have also tried installing a USB 2 PCI card which is backward compatible with USB 1 in the computer. Connecting the MFC thru this card produces same error. Does this mean exisiting motherboard support only USB 1 ? Can it be upgraded to support USB2 ? Can anyone help Pl?
